Eliza
“Bessie” Margaret Dobson passed
away peacefully on December 29,
2002, two days
before her 92nd birthday. Bessie
spent the early part of her life in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was a dressmaker and specialized in making bridal and
evening gowns and occasionally made gowns for royalty.
She moved with her parents to Canada
in 1954 and
resided in the Coderre district before moving to
Moose Jaw
in 1977.
Bessie was very talented and enjoyed reading, writing,
drawing, sewing, knitting, crocheting and stitching. She is predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Grace
Dobson; sister, Grace Johnstone; brother-in-law, Walter Johnstone,
and niece-in-law, Sarah Johnstone. Bessie
will be lovingly remembered by her nieces: Rosemary (Rick) Opperman – Calgary; Irene (Kurt) Carlson – Regina; and nephews: Lawrence
(Faye) Johnstone; and Bruce (Jackie) Johnstone – Coderre;
great-nieces and nephews: Kathy (Darcy) Dorais and children, Amber, Melissa, and
Rachel; David (Tammy)
Johnstone and children, Dustin, Dakota, and Logan; Byron and Craig
Johnstone; Jill (Chris) McKee; Ryan, Randy (Rebecca Rowland) and
Roslyn Opperman; and Brad, Darren and Erin Carlson.
Funeral Services will be held at W.J.Jones & Son
Chapel on Thursday, January 2, 2003
at 1:30 pm. Reverend
Doris Watt will officiate. Interment
will follow at the Grace United Church Cemetery, Coderre. Memorials to the Extendicare Family Support Group, 1151
