NORA BOLSTER

NORA BOLSTER of Moose Jaw, passed away in hospital on Monday, December 16, 2002 at the age of 75 years.  Born in Rockglen, January 8, 1927, Nora grew up in this area.  She married Eddie April 21, 1949.  She began her career as a co-agent for Saskatchewan Government Telephones in Rockglen in 1949.  Both she and Eddie worked as agents in the area until 1968. The couple raised their three children there.  In 1968 the rural office closed and Nora and her family moved to Moose Jaw where she worked as an Operator until 1979.  That same year, she became a Teller in the business office. One of the friendly SaskTel faces who met the public on a daily basis, Nora enjoyed the variety of people she met in that position.  She was quoted to saying, “I’ve made a lot of close friends over the years, all different types of people, and it was fun”.  Nora had two favorite pastimes: following the Blue Jays and her grandsons, Denis, Eddie and John.  Predeceased by her parents, husband, Edwin in 1974, daughter, Marilyn in 1989; brothers: Mike, Frank, John, Carl and Alfred; and two sisters: Lena and Emma.  Nora is survived by her children: Larry (Cheryl) of Saskatoon and Don of Moose Jaw; grandchildren: Denis, Eddie and John; brothers: Joe (Nancy) of Toronto and Otto (Hazel) of Moose Jaw; sisters: Mary (Daymen) of Duncan, B.C., Katie Wolfe of Regina, Annie (Willard) Knops of Medicine Hat, Alta. and Ad (Wayne) Lowthian of Scobey, Montana. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 1064 – 3rd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw.  Reverend Father Gerry Bouche will be the Mass Celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.  A Prayer Service will be held Thursday evening, 7:30 p.m. at the W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw.  In living memory of Nora, a tree will be planted in Wakamow Valley by W.J.Jones & Son Funeral Home

Glen &  Margaret Kupper: Assiniboia, Sask.- I was a telephone operator in Assiniboia when your Mom worked in Rockglen. We had the pleasure of visiting her this summer at a garage sale. She was a wonderful lady and we always enjoyed our visits with her.

Bev Hein - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan: Larry, Cheryl & family,: I was always running into Nora at various places & she would always say "Hi Debbie" & I'd laugh & say Bev.  Nora would say "oh right- Bev" next time I'll get it right she would say & sure enough when I saw her next she would say "Hi Debbie".  I know you too will have many fond & funny memories that will help you through this difficult time.  My thoughts & prayers are with you all.

Carla Yager  - Kelowna, B.C. ( Nee Shaw ) Remember of Jim Shaw Family.: I have been remembrance of Nora for long time as far That Our family were living in Rockglen for many years. I always remember of Rockglen peoples who usaly to live in Rockglen for long time ago. I know you for many years. Sadly that I will miss you with Shaw, and old Farm time. God Bless you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all family. It sad that I only saw her for many years from when I was little and Then My family moved to BC in 1970. When I was 13 years old and I really miss all my friends in Rockglen and always remember who are all my old friends in Rockglen. I MISS YOU AND ALL MY LOVE. REST IN PEACE.
