Muriel
Brooks (nee: Williams),
of Moose
Jaw,
passed away at home with her family at her side on
Thursday,
October 24, 2002. Muriel
was born and raised on the family farm near Wallard,
Sask.
on
September 20, 1914.
She married Phillip Lock Brooks on January 3, 1942,
in St.Thomas,
Ontario
and they celebrated their
60th Wedding Anniversary this
year. They moved to Moose
Jaw
in 1945 and after raising her family, she worked at Canaday’s
from 1967 until her retirement in 1979. Her first love was her
family and always put their happiness before her own.
She was a wonderful cook and spent many hours in her
garden. She and Lock
enjoyed many trips together and especially liked visiting
relatives in England.
She was predeceased by her parents George and Mabel
Williams. She is
survived by her husband Phillip Lock Brooks; children: Robert
Brooks (Margaret) of N.Vancouver,
B.C. and Beverley Brooks (Max Baldwin) of Moose
Jaw;
grandchildren: Daniel Brooks, Colleen Baldwin (Aage Andre Weider),
Graham Baldwin (Nicole Pyett) and Teresa Baldwin; sister: Gertie
Green; sisters-in-law: June Ruehs and Ethel Brooks; several
nieces, nephews and cousins, including relatives in England. A private family service will be held at W.J.Jones &
Son Ltd. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 223
